Recently you might have read in news about an adivasi woman named Soyam Rame who was shot and injured by the security forces near Gumpad village while she was fishing in nearby pond alongwith other women.

She was then first taken to MSF who refered them to Bhadrachalm, where she was kept at a government hospital first but later when she was not being treated properly, the family members took her to a private hospiotal there. Soni sori went alongwith the family members to meet her. When the family members started speaking to the media, the police then claimed that Soyam Rame is a naxalite and they will take action against her when she gets released. Infact on 28.12.17, family members of Soyam Rame even complained to the SP and collector, Sukma asking for investigation into the incident and also for proper medical assistance for Soyam Rame. It is to be noted, that Soyam Rame has 3 young children aged 6 years, 10 years and 12 years old.

Recently family members have informed that Soyam Rame and her husband are missing from the private hospital in Bhadrachalam. Family has been trying to find their whereabouts but have received no information about both of them. They fear that Sukma police has picked up Soyam Rame and her husband.
